  • It's no more dangerous that any other area to get a tattoo.

    Pain-wise, I'm told it's about medium. It's a fairly small area, though, so you can't have that much time under the needle. My only concern would be that it's an area that gets a lot of sun, and sun is so bad for ink.


  • Well its not dangerous...and how painful it is just depends on your pain tolerance. If its your first i would go for a different spot. Personally because that spot is more painful that others and because it is a hard to cover area..i would think about it alot before i got it


  • I just got a tattoo on my inner wrist last weekend. It's large for my wrist, since the circumference of my wrist is less than six inches, and the tattoo is about 2 1/2" x 4" (wraps around a little). I didn't think it hurt very much while getting it. When my artist first started, it stung a little, but soon enough, I got used to the feeling, and my wrist was more numb than anything else. Then again, it all depends on an individual's level of pain tolerance. I didn't bleed much, except for when he started with the shading. I have noticed over the last few days that although the tattoo is healing well, the skin is more sensitive than it had been with my other tattoos, including the one on my shoulder blade.

    As for the risk factor, unless the shop doesn't practice sterile techniques, I don't think the tattoo itself is dangerous.


  • My brother has one on each wrist he said it was okay but that the one that goes around his upper arm hurt the worst cause you tend to have more fat there

  • All tattoos are painful. It can be very dangerous if you don't go to a clean reputable shop where they open individual bottles of ink just for you.


  • I got a heart on my inner wrist. It hurt really really bad. I love the tattoo though and don't regret sitting through it...but it was probably the worst pain i have ever experienced. I would suggest going for it, but just know that it has the potential to hurt like hell!!!


  • Tattoo's depend on pain tolerence.. and not all of them hurt. Inner wrists are tricky because they ususally only look good from one angle- with your wrist facing up (like spiderman does when he shoots web)
    But i say go for it- go to a good clean tattoo place and get something good and original - never off the wall!


  • I have a Tat on my inner wrist. The thing is to be cute, sexy but discrete with it as it may affect your future career goals.
    Size and design plays a big part also.
    A tat on your wrist is painful as the skin there is thin, but not dangerous.

  • The only advise I can give you is this: get it done while you have time off from work. I have a friend who get a tat on her wrist on a Friday she had off from work. Monday came around and she went back to work. She has to wear gloves and they rubbed at her tattoo. Now she needs to get a touch up because there a visible line of no ink that you can see from the bottom of the glove. So, if you have a week off coming up, that when I would schedule my tat appointment.

    As for pain, it's temporary and in my experience never as bad as you think it's going to be. And I've never heard of any spot being more dangerous than others to tattoo.


  • Well it all depends on the artist and how clean and sterile the shop is as to wether it's dangerous. It's thin skin with plenty of nerves, veins, and arteries. If the artist is good then you really don't have anything to worry about there. If you've had a tattoo before you know what kind of pain to expect but on the wrist the skin is much thinner with more nerves then most places so it will probably bleed more and be more painfull. But keep in mind tattoos are addictive and you have to think about if it will affect you down the road.
