  • Im talking about the clock and the heat area. - everytime I turn on my car, they go on... but when I go and put my headlights on, those lights inside turn off. Its really annoying because I cant see the time or see if the heat is on when I drive.

Sometimes when the car is still on, and I put the car in park and then put the e-brake on... they go on. I also see the "brake" light flash like every 5 minutes when I drive. - what does that mean?

Do you think some wires are loose or something? is this an easy fix for me(or my boyfriend) or should I just bring the car to toyota?

  • Its the dimmer - check the manual as to how the dimmer works - its usually a dial type switch - when the E-brake or lights are on the dimmer is activated. If the dimmer is set low then the lights appear to go off.

I'd try that first before going to the dealer

  • My brother just put a whole new lighting system in his car (the stereo/heating lights) and he had to solder the wires together. You may have a loose wire that need soldering.
