  • We've always enjoyed Mrs. Smith's pies as an "extra" in our holiday dessert buffets ok...so this year was to be no different. We got both the Sweet Potato and the Coconut Creme...and they were HORRIBLE...they were both chunky and watery...the crust was completely different..you couldn't taste the coconut in the creme pie...PLUS they were about 1/3 smaller than they were in the past. Are they trying to save money by using inferior quality ingredients or by making the pies smaller? I mean ewwww...I won't be buying these ever again..and that's saying alot because we have used these pies for YEARRSSSS...and no, we did not cook it wrong, we cooked it exactly as instructed and could probably manage it in our sleep because we've done it successfully so many times in the past. Did anyone else notice a difference in quality as well?

  • I myself don't really eat pies at all but, we just buy the store brand from food 4 less (kroger) and they were goood. ( so the parents said so anyway..lol...and only $2.98 ech...ready to eat.

  • What store did you shop at mine was great may-be they where old out dated , but Sara Lee is a good one two.

  • I like home made so much that I can not stomach frozen of any brand. I do cheat a little by buying the frozen shells which I nomally leave most on my plate. By having the shells made it is so easy to make your own pies. Still need to bake them rather fresh or frozen.

  • sadly nothing is the same anymore. things get smaller..

quality and quanitity change yet they expect you to pay the same if not more.

  • yeah, they got smaller too.
we get sara lee now. its perfect
