  • HOW does one go about installing Mysql on this Server? I read over the installation documentation at mysql.com but it had me clicking from one place to another, and I can't get a straight

    Step 1: this is what you do
    Step 2: if step 1 was successful now do this
    etc etc


    Why do they make installation instructions so damned difficult?

    anyway, anyone ever installed mysql in Windows 2000 Advanced Server, please post an answer on the step needed to install this.

    grab windows ver :D

    double click exe file
    once installation is finished launch mysqladmin, it will prompt you for user and pass.
    Install myodbc -> http://www.mysql.com/downloads/download.php?file=Downloads/MyODBC/myodbc-2.50.39-nt.zip

    Reboot :)
