  • Back in the 80s it was to help our friend "Saddam" to stay in power "Plus" there was money to be made selling these weapons to Iraq.

  • and after all he was their man who they had installed

  • But I thought he didn't have any?.?.?.?.?

  • Because the people in the US aren't very intelligent.

  • what is your source?

america, as far as i remember, never used chemical weapons...we developed some but that was during the cold war, and we signed a pact agreeing never to use them...if i remember right anyways...

  • Why do you beat your dog?

White phosphorus is not a chemical weapon. It is not listed in the Chemical Weapons Convention. This is just more pro-terrorist propaganda.

The US did not sell chemical weapons to Saddam Hussein.

Nor did we use biological weapons in Korea (anthrax, which we didn't use, is a biological weapon, not a chemical weapon).

And Agent Orange was a defoliant. It was not a chemical weapon.

So far your record of falsehoods is perfect. If you can offer proof (not links to other propagandists, but technical papers which support your claims) I'm sure we'd all like to see them.

  • I'm going to stay out of this discussion, but I feel obligated to tell you that WP (willy pete) is NOT a chemical weapon - it's an incendiary, found in grenades and artillery rounds. And 'Agent Orange' was a defoliant, not a chemical weapon in the strictest sense of the word, as meaning "used on humans." Our soldiers suffered from it as badly as anyone or anything else! Anthrax is considered a biological weapon. You need to read up on CBRN or NBC warfare.

  • Actually, because the Soviet Union was looking around for a few places to turn into new Communist states; and they had settled on Afghanistan and Iraq.

We provided Saddam Hussein with weapons, some biological and chemical, and provided Osama bin Laden with explosives training from the CIA. Interestingly enough, George H.W. Bush was in charge of the CIA when they were training bin Laden in explosives.

The war with Iran came later. We were not enemies with Iran yet. After the fight with the Soviet Union, Hussein had some of our weapons left. He decided to use them when he went to war with Iran.

That is the reason we don't get along with Iran now. They saw our weapons flying at them, and they got a little miffed about it. They took Americans hostage for 444 days. That was a major hallmark moment of the Carter Administration.

We didn't know why they took those hostages, and they didn't know why we provided weapons to Hussein to fight them.

It was mostly because we didn't provide weapons to Hussein to fight the Iranians. He did that mess on his own, and Iran got ticked at us for it. They retaliated against an attack we didn't really know we were a part of, and there is our fight with them.

  • Because he was at war with Iran.
As the saying goes "The enemy of my enemy is my friend"

  • As so often happens, guys like you that have a hatred or at a minimum a dislike of America or its government come up with these assumptions and accusations that are completely idiotic and lacking a factual foundation.

Agent Orange IS NOT a chemical weapon. It is a defoliant used to kill the underbrush the Viet Cong were using to hide. It affected thousands of American soldiers who are now dying from it as well.

White Phosphorus also IS NOT a chemical weapon. It is a incendiary device used as a flare of smoke producing grenade. It can also be used against personel for it BURNING effect, not a chemical reaction with the human body.
