  • i have experienced it a few times in my life
    and once i was with my bf when he came back from being in africa for 5 weeks where i couldnt talk to him even through email
    i was so happy to see him i started crying
    and he asked me why
    i never thought about it but im curious to know now...

    my thoughts are like... maybe someone is so happy their body doesnt know how to express extreme happiness so it forces tears out of the eyes
    or maybe your mind subconsciously thinks "i dont deserve this happiness" so its like being happy yet sad...

    im really curious to know what other people think. best answer gets points! :D


  • Tears give Relief. We cry when we are happy coz we are suddenly relieved.


  • Crying when your happy can be another way of expressing how u feel..Or maybe just being so full of happiness u get emotional..and see when you seen your boyfriend you were full of joy and happiness u expressed yourself by the excitement and your feelings. maybe you could of just had a moment a very happy, exciting emotional moment. i think its absolutely normal.

  • Well, I think that you were under stress from being seperated from your boyfriend. Tears are a way of relieving stress. Also you have an emotional connection to your boyfriend so when you saw him many emotions were in play.


  • you cry when you're down with heavy tear drops. literally means tears of sadness.

    meanwhile you cry when you're happy with drizzling tear drops. literally means tears of joy.

    even you cry when you're laughing hard. literally means tears of joy, too.

    the amount of the tear drops that differentiate the cries. and it's normal to COL (cry out loud)
